Reading

These two books are Kenna's favorite books to read right now. We read them over and over. In the cow book-she says "Papa cows!" That book is about Cows that can type and want electric blankets- I don't think that Dad would be too happy if his cows learned how to type and demanded electric blankets- but Kenna seems to think that those are Papa's cows. Good luck with that Dad.

Organization

Since it has been Spring- I have gotten in this mood that everything needs to be cleaned out and organized. It is taking a while, one room or closet at a time. Yesterday morning we got the girls room cleaned out and the changing table out, and put a small bookcase up for their books. I can't believe how much bigger the room is now.

Kenna in the tub- yes, I know that she still has on her shirt, she climbed in before I could help her get it off.

1st Birthday

Kylie turned 1 today. My mom came to celebrate with us. After lunch Mom watched the girls, and put them down for naps. When we got back Warren picked up some pizza, Kylie opened her presents, we ate, and then sang happy birthday to Kylie. Everything was very simple, but nice.

Eating cake- it was yellow with chocolate frosting.

Blowing out her candle- with Kenna's help- and she tried to touch the flame on it so I had to hold her hand back.

We got her this shirt and hat...
I don't think she likes the hat very much though.
Opening presents.

WOW! That went fast!

One year ago today... Kylie was born. I can't believe how fast the year has gone. Here is Kylie the day she was born.

More birthday details to come later.

Missing the good weather

Last week was so nice and we were outside a lot. This week so far has been rain, snow, and a mixture of both. When the sun is out and no precipitation is coming down- it is blowing and cold. Needless to say - we have stayed inside. Hopefully it starts to warm up again soon and the girls can play outside.

Here are some pictures of our walk around the river and the girls playing outside on Saturday.

Motivation

I got off of work early on Thursday, and got to spend some extra time with my girls at home. One of Kenna's favorite things to do is surf the internet with me. After playing some Curious George games here, and looking at pictures of Diane and Mindy, she sat quietly while I watched some videos on The Onion News Network.

During one of the videos she got really excited and started yelling "Dad, dad, dad!" while pointing at the screen. (She always yells the names of people she recognizes on the computer.)

So I asked her, "Where do you see daddy?"

She pointed to this picture.

It's a beaut, isn't it?

It's the title picture from a video on Obesity.

So, yeah. I start running at 6:30 am tomorrow morning.

Thanks Kenna.

Evening Walks

The last 2 nights have been a lot warmer- about 50 degree. We have gone down to the river and fed the ducks, then taken a walk around the river. It is so nice to get out and take a nice walk.

Playing Outside

This morning we played outside for a couple of hours. We played in the back yard for about 40 minutes, then we loaded up and went to the park. We met our friend Kristy and her daughter Rebecca there and spent the next hour and a half playing. It was so nice to get out and play. I am glad the spring is here and that the weather is starting to be warmer so that we can get out. We still needed our coats, hats, and gloves, but at least the sun was out and the snow somewhat melted around the toys.

Pictures

Kylie wakling
Kenna vacuuming- she used to be afraid of it. She wanted to vacuum and was really upset when Warren went to put it away, so he let her do it for a minute.

Spring is on its way!

It has been warmer- warm enough to go on walks. Both yesterday naps and today after naps we went on walk to the bank to see Warren. We have been able to play outside on the new swing set for a while every day. The girls are still bundled up in coats, hats, and gloves, but at least we are getting out.

Kylie swinging outside- Warren took this picture through the window.
Kylie- Kenna took this picture of her yesterday while we were in the car. (All the other pictures she took did not turn out so well.)

This morning- Kylie sitting in Kenna's booster high chair. Kenna insisted that her doll had to sit in the high chair, so Kylie ended up in the booster.

Sitting on the couch

Kylie loves to just sit on the couch. She just sits there- calm as can be. I can't believe how different Kylie and Kenna are.

Rocking Baby

Kenna likes me to wrap her doll up in her blanket, then she rocks back and forth saying "sh, sh." It is really cute. Then she insisted that Kylie needed her baby.
