Our Fun Day!

This morning the girls and I went to the park to play with a few friends. After the park, we came home and ate lunch and took naps. (While the girls napped, I did laundry and dishes.) When the girls woke up, Warren was off work and we headed to the zoo with Spencer and Brianna, and Warren's parents. Kenna had a great time showing everyone her zoo and all of the animals. When we got home, it was really nice out, so we called a couple of friends- the same ones that we went to the park with, to come over and let their kids run through the sprinkler with our girls. We had a great time with family and friends and now our girls were so worn out- the fell asleep within a couple of minutes of being put to bed.

Playing at the park

On Sunday we went to Burley for Father's Day. Since Warren had Monday off, we were able to stay over. Monday morning we went to Storybook Park with Mindy and played on the toys. The girls had a great time - and were able to take good naps afterwards. After the girls naps, they played outside with Grandma, and when Papa got back from work, Kenna took a ride with him to see the cows. We had a good time, - it was nice to get away for a couple of days.

Summer Fun

On Fridays, Warren goes to work at 12:30. I really enjoy having him home in the mornings and we always try and do something fun with the girls. Yesterday we went to the zoo and got them a McDonald's hamburger for lunch. Warren's day off this week happened to be today, so we were able to get the yard, garage, and basement cleaned out. We took a few bags to the recycling place, filled the pick-up truck up with a load, and Warren ran it to the dump. This afternoon, Warren and his brother Mike had set up a game of basketball with their friends.

For Father's Day, we got Warren a new laptop. He has to take some classes on-line for work, and our old one wouldn't run the programs. We also got Warren a pair of sandals, and since Kenna had grown out of her old pair, we found a cute pair for her also. Kylie just wears Kenna's old pair, although they are a little big for her.

We are going to go to Burley tomorrow and stay until Monday, because Warren has Monday off- just the way the days off fell for next week.

Warren's Fault

Last night Warren said that he needed to get the lawn mowed. I told him that if he watched the girls, then I would mow the lawn. He said he would take them to the pet store to look at hamsters (that's what he wants to get- I haven't decided yet.) When he got back, both girls had a toy stroller. He had gone to the toy store to look and found them for about 10 dollars apiece. He said that at first he was only going to get 1, but halfway to the checkout decided that he better get 2, 1 for each girl. Kylie didn't like to see it get out of her sight and screamed and cried the whole way home because she wanted it. We had to trick the girls to get in the tub-and then hide the strollers in the closet until this morning. They love them and have been playing with them since they got them.

Playing with them this morning.

And yes, it is a good thing that Warren got 2 or we would have so many fights and not be able to play with them at all.

Another Home Improvement Project...

We got a new storm/screen door for the front. On Friday, I had the hardest time keeping Kenna in the house. She can get the front door open and she is gone. Friday night we went to Lowe's to find a chain or hook thing for the top of the door. We soon realized that she would be strong enough to pull it off. So we looked at doors, just to look. They had one on sale and it would be under $100. We decided that it would be a good purchase and bought it. That night Mike came over and helped Warren install it. We still have a couple of things to fix on it- but it works, and for the most part keeps Kenna in.

Zoo, Zoo and more Zoo

Our outings has mostly been to the zoo. Since it has been rainy and cold- I really don't want to take the girls to the park- and have them play in the mud, or on the wet toys. Last Tuesday when I went visit teaching, Warren took the girls to the zoo. I took them again Saturday morning. Yesterday morning both girls were up earlier than usual and we took Warren to work. I called my friend Heather- and her and her son James came with us. When Kenna got up this morning I asked her what she wanted to do and she said "Go, Zoo." So we went again this morning. At least our membership card is being paid for - right?

Kenna and Kylie walking into the zoo today. Kylie wanted to walk with Kenna, so I didn't even take the stroller in. Plus- it wears them out for their naps.

(My brother in law Alan has goats, and Diane has been trying to help Warren in convincing me to get a goat for our back yard. My excuse is that Kenna can have just as fun feeding and brushing the goats and the zoo. AND- I don't have to take care of the goats!)

Kenna and Kylie + new window

The girls wanted to help us throughout the whole process of putting in a new window. Most of the time, they had to stay out of the way, but they still got to help a little bit.

New Window

(Warning: Long post ahead)
The Monday before Memorial Day, Greg and Mike came over and started to dig the hole for the window. On Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend, our friend Ben came over and showed us where we needed to cut. Warren had a couple of other friends also come over and help with the cutting. Once the window was completely cut, they started hitting it. Within a few minutes the piece had fallen out. The next Wednesday, another friend that Warren used to work for came over with one of his work trucks with a lift thing on it and helped us lift the cement piece out. The next Tuesday our window came in. On Saturday, Ben came over and helped us frame the window and put it in. It started raining so that is as far as we got that day. Yesterday, Warren dug more so that we could get the window well in. Mike came over last night and they got the window well in, the dirt around it, and gravel in the bottom. We are excited to have a new window. One down and 2 more to go.
