Christmas

Our Christmas started in Burley on the 22nd. That was the day that all of us could be there. We had a nice dinner, acted out the nativity, played games and opened some presents. On Sunday we all went to my parents ward and then took some pictures. Because of a storm coming in we left sooner than planned- but still had a great time.

Joy School Christmas Program

Last night Kylie had her Christmas Program where she was the angel.  She was really shy and hid her face a lot, but still said her parts.  The mom in charge had her stand on the piano bench then climb down to talk to Mary and the Shepherds.   The other mom told me that during practice that she would jump off of the bench and it looked like she was flying- but when she saw everybody looking at her she got really shy and didn't do that.

Catch up....

THANKSGIVING
For Thanksgiving, we stayed here this year.  Warren's brothers and sister came and we spent a lot of time with them.  On Thanksgiving we went and had scones and then the boys went to play in the Turkey Bowl that Warren's friends have every year.  I took the kids over to watch, but it was really cold and hard to keep Daniel off the field so we didn't stay very long.  After football, it was movie/nap time.  I kept Daniel home for a nap while the rest of them went to Wreck it Ralph.  (We had taken the kids to it earlier in the month- so I still got to see it.)  After the movie/nap we all went and helped finish getting dinner ready.  We ate, cleaned up and watched football.  It was good to spend time with family.

(These are the only pics I have of Thanksgiving...)

WARREN'S BIRTHDAY

Warren's birthday was the next Thursday.  He changed his mind about what kind of cake he wanted, then decided that chex muddy buddies would be a great treat.  I made him a double batch of them.  I was going to put candles in them for him to blow out- but realized too late that I didn't have any candles.  His book that he wanted (and ordered) came a couple of days later.)  His parents were busy on his birthday so we also celebrated on Sunday, after the Christmas Devotional.  He opened presents, let the kids blow out his candles, and had cake.

DANIEL CHECK UP

On Warren's birthday he took Daniel to his well child check up.  Daniel weighs 27 pounds 12 ounces and is 33 and 3/4 inches tall.  He is in the 85 % for weight and 80 % for height.  He loves to play with cars and loves throwing balls.  He will lay down in his own bed at night and go to sleep, but still needs to be rocked to go to sleep for his nap. He talks a lot, but I don't understand most of what he says.  He loves to help me do chores around the house and loves to play with his sisters.

"Driving" Dad's car- one of his favorite things to do.   Shifting...

Turning on lights/ wipers...
Changing the radio station... He thinks that he is soo big!

Christmas Party

Last night we had our ward Christmas party.  The fed us dinner, Santa came and had a program.  It went a long and the kids were really tired when we got home.

Kylie talking to Santa- She was little shy and not sure she wanted to talk to him...

Kenna told him that she had been really good and that she wanted a doll house to share with her sister and a mermaid doll to go with it.

Daniel just sat there and wouldn't look at him...

New York Trip

*Warning- Long Post...

Day 1 - Wednesday, Nov. 14
My mom came and got the kids around 1 pm.  Warren had a meeting for work and was done around 2:30.  He came and picked me up and then had to go to Rexburg to finish a few things at his branch.  We left from Rexburg about 5 and headed to Salt Lake.  We got to the airport about 9:30 that night.  We took the red eye out of Salt Lake and flew to Charlotte, North Carolina.

Day 2- Thursday,  Nov. 15
We flew from Charlotte to Buffalo - getting in about 11:15.  Spencer picked us up from the airport and we went and got Mighty Taco for lunch.  We went to Spencer's and ate lunch.  After lunch we visited with Spencer for a while before taking him to work.  He showed us where we should park when we went to the game- it was really cool being able to flash a pass and go through where most other people don't.  Since we didn't sleep very well on the plane we went back to Spencer's and took a nap before the game.
Brianna got home and we visited with her and then headed to the game.  We got there a little before they opened the gates.  Once we got in, found our seats and got something to eat, we stalked Spencer with the camera.  The game was a lot of fun and the Bills won.  We waited for the stadium to clear out before heading to the car.  The line to get out was super long so we waited in the car.  Warren and Spencer called back and forth after the game and when we realized that we  Spencer would be done soon then we just waited for him.  Brianna put some pillows and blankets in the back of the car - so I laid down and rested while we waited.  We got back to Spencer's about 1:45 in the morning.

The stuff Brianna and Spencer let us borrow to wear to the game.  (They also had big Bill's coats).  I started to get cold- then remembered we had those feet insert things to put in shoes.  They are amazing and we stayed really warm after using them.

Becky before the game- ready to go in.  (Yes, I have a blanket to wrap up in also...)

Me eating at the game- We got there really early...

Both of us at the game (Warren thought that if he wore his waldo costume it might be crazy enough to get him on tv.  It wasn't...)

 Spencer before the game

 The Bills won!

Spencer after the game (He is in the red carrying the red duffle with game balls in it - I think)

Day 3- Friday, Nov. 16
Warren got up and took Spencer to work and I got ready to go.  We took Spencer's car and we went to Palmyra.  We toured the farm - the log home, frame house, and barns.  We also walked through the Sacred Grove- where we saw 3 deer jumping/running through it.  After the farm we drove over to the Temple.  Because of the winter hours it was closed when we got there, but we were able to walk around it.  We went to the Hill Cumorah and talked with the missionaries for a minute, then hiked up the hill.  When we were done with the church sites we headed back towards Buffalo.
We stopped in Rochester at the dinosaur Barbeque to eat some lunch. (Spencer told us it was really good if we wanted to stop. When I saw the sign to Syracuse I texted Kyle and told him how close we were.  He texted me back and told me to eat at the BBQ place if I went there- so of course we had to try it out.)
We met Spencer and Brianna back at their place that evening.  We visited for a little bit the went to eat at Duffs.  After eating we went back to Spencer's and watched a movie.

Becky at the Smith's log cabin

Inside the cabin (that is the mantle Joseph leaned on after coming in after the First Vision.)

 Warren at the Frame house.

The way they dried their herbs in the frame house.

Apple orchard - The fence that Joseph fell over the morning after Moroni visited him.

The Sacred Grove.  We saw deer running through here.

 Palmyra Temple

If you look through the trees you can kind of see the Smith farm.  On the farm side you can see the Temple.

Hill Cumorah- I got a better picture of the front- but it won't flip for me.  (This is where the plates were buried and Joseph got them from Moroni.)

Eating at Duffs- Warren got the Suicide wings - they are super hot

In front of Duffs.

Day 4- Saturday, Nov. 17
We got up and got ready had breakfast at the Pancake House (I think).  After breakfast we headed to Toronto.  Warren and I didn't realize that Toronto was as far as it was.  We got to the Temple about 2:15.  We took some pictures, then did a session.  After the Temple we went to downtown Toronto to sight see.  We went up on the CN tour- which has a glass floor to look down at the street below.  It also has glass in the elevator to watch as you go up and down.  We then went back to Buffalo and got some pizza for a late dinner.

Day 5- Sunday, Nov. 18
Brianna had to work at Mercy Flight, so we went to church with Spencer.  Then Spencer took us to Niagara on the Lake.  It is a small town with some fun little shops.  We walked around some and found a hat shop, cow ice cream shop, cheese shop, and a Christmas shop.  (There were a lot more- those are the few that we went in and walked around.)  Then we drove closer to the lake and walked around some, and got some pictures.  There are a lot of inns and bed and breakfast places that were really neat.
We then drove over to Niagara Falls.  It was a lot of money to park so Spencer let us out at one end and we were able to walk and get a lot of pictures and jump back in the car at the other end.  The Falls are really neat- but it was really hard to see the horse shoe because of the mist coming up from the falls.
We drove back to Buffalo and Spencer gave us a tour of the stadium. We got to see where he works, the locker room, supply room, and the practice fields.  We also got to run/walk through the tunnel that the players go out of during the game and stand on the field. After that we went back to Spencer's and relaxed for a little bit.
We then went to Mercy Flight where Brianna was working and she showed us around.  We got to see the flight control tower, the area that the pilot, medic and nurses wait until calls come in, and the helicopter that they pick people up in.  Brianna wanted us to come visit at night so we could see through the night vision goggles- which are pretty neat.  We also got to sit in the helicopter.  After the tour we went and got sandwiches for dinner.

Becky next to plastic cow in the cow ice cream shop.

In the gazebo on the lake

I thought this looked like the prison from the movie Monte Cristo

I wanted a picture of the brothers by the lake- this is what I got...

One of the Inns by the lake.

 The horse drawn carriages.

 Rainbow over the falls.

The horse shoe of the falls.

The falls on the U.S. side.

We thought that the water hitting the rocks at the bottom was really neat.

Becky with the falls.

The other side of the falls.

 Becky next to Spiller's locker.

 Out on the practice field

In the locker room- It was a mess because the players don't clean up after themselves- and the equipment people who usually clean it up had the weekend off.  (That is one of Spencer's jobs.)

Warren sitting at Spencer's desk holding one of the game balls.

 Spencer's locker.
Spencer holding the nasty jersery... People buy used game jerserys (not clean) from an auction so Spencer sends those to the NFL people who do the auction.  I think it is so gross!

Becky in a helmet.  This is just an extra from the shelf.
The throwback helmet -they use these once or twice during the season.

That is the biggest shoe they have- I think it was a size 18.

Warren hold Terrel Owens shoe.  Nike made those especially for him and he didn't like them so wouldn't wear them.  I don't even know how many boxes of the shoes were on the shelf.

 Walking out of the tunnel.

 Standing on the field.

 Becky next to the helicopter.

Warren and I sitting in the Mercy Flight Helicopter.  This is where the pilot sits.

Wearing the helmets that they wear.  They have ear pieces things in the helmet to hear when the tower people are talking and when Brianna talks to them.  They also have the mouth piece thing to talk back.

Wearing the helmet with night vision- It was really big on me and kept falling forward.  I think they attach the night vision goggles to any helmet though...

Warren with the night vision goggles on.

Day 6 - Monday, Nov. 19
Spencer took us to the airport at 6:30 am and the rest of the day was spent traveling home.  We had a great time.  We picked a great time to go- we got to go to a game, Spencer had a couple of days off, and the weather (which I was surprised) was really good.
