Ice Skating

I signed the older kids up for ice skating lessons.  They were 2 times a week for 4 weeks.  They did well- improved each time and had fun.

Trip to Washington DC Day 5

Monday morning we walked to the Pentagon Memorial.  After we saw that we got on the metro at the pentagon- very tight security - absolutely no photos.  We got off by the museums and went to the American History Museum.  We got some lunch after that and headed back to Mike's so he could take us to the airport to go home.

 Pentagon Memorial

American History Museum- my favorite exhibit is the flag exhibit.  I could not take pictures in it, but it was amazing.

This president stand was in the president's exhibit at the museum.

 In front of the museum.

Back in Salt Lake Monday night.  Warren took the kids down to get me.

It was a great trip.  I am so glad that I was able to go and see Washington DC.  It has been on my bucket list for a long time.

Trip to Washington DC Day 4

Sunday morning we went to church.  After church we had lunch and then we took naps/ had a quiet time.  Late afternoon/early evening Mike dropped Jenny R, Mindy and I off at Arlington Cemetery.  We walked around a lot in there.  We saw the changing of the guard, Kennedy's grave, and just felt the quiet peace that was present there.  After the Cemetery we walked over to the Marine Corps memorial.  We walked back and found the Metro Station and got back to Mike's for dinner.

 The Kennedy's grave.

Looking at all the graves from one of the many hills...

One of the guards at the tomb of the unknown soldier.

The changing of the guard... Was really neat to see.

I saw this one and had to get my picture next to it.
It was cold and rainy that afternoon.

View of the Washington Memorial from the Marine Corps Memorial. (I love that you can see it from everywhere in DC)

The air force memorial from the top of Mike's apartment building.

Trip to Washington DC Day 3

Saturday morning we wanted to go to Mount Vernon.  Jenny H. drove us there and we spent some time on the tour and walking around the grounds.  We got back early afternoon and had some lunch.  After that we got ready and went to the DC Temple.  After the Temple we went to eat at a place that Warren's friend recommended.

Mount Vernon from the parking lot.

I loved the view that George Washington had, it is amazing!

We saw this guy playing his instrument all over while we were there.

Washington DC Temple- It is beautiful.

All of us- a sweet missionary took this for us.
